Lead Transfusion Medicine at senior consultant level in one of the Gulf’s most advanced public healthcare systems. Through Global Medical Recruiting (GMR) – an international healthcare recruitment agency established in 2007 – you’ll be introduced to Qatar’s flagship public healthcare provider and its modern, JCI-accredited hospitals and laboratories.
As Senior Consultant for Transfusion Medicine, you’ll be the most senior physician in your specialty (after the Chair/Section Head), overseeing consultants and junior doctors, setting clinical standards for transfusion practice and blood services, and driving quality, education and research across this respected government network.
Package & benefits
- Senior Consultant Grade 116
- Total monthly salary from 65,000 QAR (non-negotiable, tax-free)
- Salary structured as: basic salary + market allowance + professional allowance + transport allowance (1,250 QAR) + GSM allowance (500 QAR/month)
- Housing: family accommodation provided
- Annual leave: 50 days per year
- Schooling allowance: 21,000 QAR per child per academic year (up to 3 children, ages 5–18)
- Business-class flights for you, spouse and up to 3 children (annual, joining and repatriation)
- Baggage allowance on joining and repatriation
- Conference entitlement: yearly after 18 months’ service – up to 9 days (including travel) with return ticket
Family benefits apply only if dependants live in Qatar under your sponsorship. All salary and benefits are at the sole discretion of the employer.
Minimum profile
- Overseas senior physicians only – currently not practicing in Qatar
- Specialist qualifications from one of the following (or equivalent senior board):
- Arab Board (GCC)
- USA – ABMS
- Canada – RCPSC
- Sweden – Swedish Board
- Australia & New Zealand – Fellowship of the Royal Colleges
- Germany – Facharzt
- UK – GMC Specialist Registration with CCT/CCST
- Held a Senior Consultant post for at least 1 year, or Consultant post for at least 6 years
- Valid home-country license to practice
- Eligible for Senior Consultant/Specialist registration and licensing in Qatar
- Extensive experience in Transfusion Medicine / Blood Bank / Laboratory Medicine at senior level, including leadership, governance, policy and teaching
Role snapshot
- Lead and supervise consultants and junior medical staff in Transfusion Medicine
- Oversee patient safety and clinical decision-making within your specialty
- Shape departmental strategy, staffing, training and budgeting
- Contribute to research, education and hospital-wide quality initiatives
- Represent the department on internal and external committees
