🎯 Role Purpose

This role ensures the organization protects customer data, adheres to global data privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, OECD), and governs enterprise data usage effectively. As Deputy DPO, you’ll support the development and execution of privacy and governance strategies, identifying risk, implementing controls, and guiding enterprise-wide compliance and data management standards.

You will collaborate across Legal, IT, Compliance, InfoSec, and Business teams to strengthen controls and mitigate both reputational and financial risk.

🛠️ Key Skills & Technical Knowledge

Strong knowledge of global privacy laws (e.g. GDPR) & data governance practices

Experience in data protection systems/solutions and security architecture

Familiarity with financial institution operations and risk models

Skilled in drafting privacy policies, legal frameworks & compliance documentation

Solid grasp of information security, data classification & breach response

Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, Law, or related field

Exceptional stakeholder management, reporting & negotiation skills

Strong communication and training capabilities (verbal & written)

Experience managing large-scale privacy/data governance projects

📈 Experience Required

12–15 years in IT, cybersecurity, or data governance within regulated industries

5+ years dedicated to privacy law implementation and global compliance

Proven delivery of data governance frameworks & policies

Experience engaging with multi-cultural, cross-functional teams

Background in conducting privacy impact assessments & training programs
