Role: BT Operator

Job Summary:
To administer and support the accurate and safe operation of the BT database(s), to enable the implementation of safety rules and ensure the accessibility in database from all authorized personnel.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitors the physical operation of the computer systems according to the operating rules and regulations, such as temperature, access and building safety availability of electricity supply etc., to facilitate their safe operation
Follows up and monitors the operating indications of the data centers, and proceeds with the implementation of corrective actions in case of discrepancies
Ensures that all servers possess the required tapes for data back up and systems operations
Proceeds to the execution of batches, upgrades, and migrations without impacting on the operational capacity of the systems
Coordinates with vendors for the accurate processing of information systems activities, e.g. upgrades, maintenance, migration etc.
Monitors and reports on the daily operating status of the data center, identifying and reporting any potential malfunction, to facilitate the development of solutions for permanent resolution
Controls that the employees have full accessibility to the servers and the systems according to their authorization level, while proceeding to the resolution of any potential malfunction, to support the continuous function of Banking operations
Skills:
Priority for ¨ Experience in mainframe operation
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
Sound understanding of database design theory and protocols
Good knowledge of banking BT systems and applications
Very good knowledge of database management (administration, recovery, maintenance, installation, etc)
Knowledge of the database systems and servers used, i.e. Oracle, Microsoft, Sybase, SQL etc
